I’ve built the control system for Ann Hamilton’s Bullroarer installation at the Henry Gallery. This piece, with 21 independent mechatronic sound makers, is installed in the main space of the Museum for her show, Ann Hamilton: the common S E N S E, opening October 11th 2014.
The system is comprised of 21 individual bullroarer modules. Each of these has:
- an Arduino Nano
- a relay module
- an ENC28J60 ethernet module
- limit switch
- ultrasonic rangefinder
And runs a custom firmware using the uIP and OSCuino libraries.
Additionally, I have developed a central control GUI and sequencer in SuperCollider. The prototype GUI was built with pureData.
